Arlington Community High School required a dedicated, long-term home within Amazon’s HQ2 development to support. The project involved transforming occupied corporate office space into a secure, flexible educational environment while maintaining ongoing building operations. Success depended on evaluating site options, coordinating a complex public-private partnership among Amazon, Arlington Public Schools, and Arlington County, and balancing the school’s operational, security, and educational needs within a mixed-use corporate campus.

Seneca Group partnered with Amazon to plan and deliver Arlington Community High School’s new home at Metropolitan Park. Our team evaluated site and occupancy strategies, supported negotiations of the long-term lease and public-private partnership with Arlington Public Schools and Arlington County, and led the planning, design, and construction of approximately 30,000 SF of dedicated educational space. The new facility features a secure student entrance, science labs, a library, food service, administrative offices, flexible classrooms and common areas with views overlooking Metropolitan Park.
