Challenge
Relocating PATH’s headquarters required creating a workplace that reflected the organization’s evolving culture while supporting its highly specialized research mission. The transition to a fully open office environment introduced significant change management considerations across multiple levels of the organization. At the same time, the project needed to incorporate a health technologies research laboratory within an existing office tower, requiring extensive engineering analysis and coordination. Balancing workplace flexibility, laboratory requirements, and organizational alignment shaped the overall delivery strategy.
Solution
We served as tenant representative and development manager, leading site selection, design, construction, FF&E coordination, and move management. Our team implemented a structured change management process that included workplace studies, staff engagement, mockups, and furniture evaluations to support informed decision-making. Close coordination between architects, engineers, and contractors enabled successful integration of laboratory functions within the office environment. We also guided implementation of an underfloor air distribution system designed to support future flexibility and departmental growth.
Outcome & Impact
The completed headquarters provides PATH with a modern workplace that supports collaboration, innovation, and global health research. Laboratory, office, and meeting environments are integrated within a cohesive facility designed to adapt over time. The transition to an open workplace model created greater flexibility while maintaining alignment with organizational goals. PATH received a headquarters that advances its mission while supporting future growth, research, and operational needs.
