We partnered with Lakeside School to align project scope, budget, and institutional priorities for the renovation and expansion of Allen-Gates Hall. Working closely with school leadership, consultants, legal counsel, and public agencies, we helped navigate complex permitting requirements and evaluate project alternatives that balanced academic goals, campus needs, and available funding.

We managed the planning, design, permitting, and construction of the Allen-Gates Hall renovation and addition, which expanded and modernized Lakeside's math and science facilities. The project included upgraded classrooms, science labs, faculty offices, and enhanced building systems designed to support flexible teaching and learning environments. Throughout the project, we coordinated stakeholders, managed budgets and schedules, and guided the team through significant scope refinement to align the project with available funding.

We helped oversee the modernization of critical building systems supporting Lakeside's math and science programs, including upgraded ventilation, laboratory infrastructure, utilities, and flexible teaching environments. The improvements created adaptable learning spaces capable of supporting evolving curriculum needs and future program growth.

Our team coordinated project delivery within an active school environment, helping minimize disruption to students, faculty, and campus operations. Through careful phasing and stakeholder coordination, we supported a smooth transition into the renovated academic spaces while maintaining continuity of educational programs.

The project faced significant permitting and entitlement challenges, including proposed frontage improvements along First Avenue that would have required extensive sidewalk, curb, and roadway upgrades. Working collaboratively with the City, legal counsel, and planning consultants, we successfully demonstrated that the improvements would create an undue hardship without providing meaningful public benefit, ultimately avoiding approximately $1.2–$1.5 million in additional costs. This strategic approach preserved project funding for educational priorities while maintaining schedule and project viability.
