Challenge
Expanding on-campus housing required balancing student life, academic needs, and budget considerations within a compact development footprint. The project needed to provide a variety of suite configurations while creating shared spaces that could support broader campus activities. Maintaining alignment among university leadership, design and construction teams, and city stakeholders introduced additional complexity throughout planning and permitting. Cost pressures also required careful evaluation of building systems and construction approaches to preserve project goals.
Solution
We provided overall development management, guiding the project through planning, design, permitting, and construction. Our team negotiated contracts, established the project budget, and maintained ongoing oversight of scope, schedule, and cost throughout delivery. Working closely with the university and project partners, we evaluated structural and construction alternatives that improved efficiency while maintaining program requirements. Consistent communication and stakeholder coordination helped keep decision-making aligned and project objectives on track.
Outcome & Impact
The completed residence hall added 184 student beds while enhancing the university’s ability to support on-campus living and student engagement. Suite-style housing, multi-purpose spaces, and curriculum rooms create a flexible environment that supports both residential and academic life. Careful cost management and collaboration enabled the project to be delivered on schedule and under budget. The university gained a modern housing asset that strengthens campus life and supports future enrollment growth.
