Challenge
Snap sought to expand its Bellevue presence by activating an additional floor within an occupied office building while maintaining flexibility, controlling costs, and supporting future growth. The project required integrating a previously occupied floor into Snap’s workplace environment, modifying existing inter-floor connections, and implementing required building system upgrades. Aggressive schedule requirements, budget reductions, permitting modifications, and maximizing reuse of existing improvements created unique challenges.
Solution
We guided planning, budgeting, design coordination, permitting, and project implementation for the workplace expansion. Working closely with Snap and the project partners, we developed a strategic reuse approach that retained much of the existing floor layout and infrastructure while selectively upgrading spaces to meet Snap’s workplace standards. Our team coordinated permit modifications, mechanical and electrical upgrades, and inter-floor connection planning while leveraging Snap’s internal reporting tools to maintain alignment with project objectives.
Outcome & Impact
The project expanded Snap’s Bellevue workplace capacity while minimizing cost, schedule, and construction impacts through the thoughtful reuse of existing improvements. The new space provides additional collaboration areas, team neighborhoods, project rooms, and support spaces that strengthen the office’s role as a hub for connection and innovation. By balancing flexibility, efficiency, and future growth needs, the project supports Snap’s evolving workplace strategy while maximizing the value of its real estate investments.
