Challenge
Following completion of the new Athletics & Performing Arts Center, St. Thomas School sought to transform its former gymnasium into a modern learning environment that would support innovation, technology, and collaborative teaching. The challenge was to adapt a large-volume athletic space into flexible academic environments while maximizing natural light, creating strong connections between learning spaces, and supporting a variety of instructional approaches within the existing building footprint.
Solution
As St. Thomas School’s trusted advisor and project manager, we guided the renovation from planning through construction, coordinating stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to align the project with the school’s evolving educational goals. Our team managed permitting, budgeting, scheduling, design and construction oversight, and project coordination, helping transform an underutilized facility into a highly adaptable center for learning, innovation, and collaboration.
Outcome & Impact
The Center for Leadership & Innovation reimagined an existing campus asset into a dynamic educational environment that supports creativity, technology, and student-centered learning. By co-locating innovation and technology programs within flexible, light-filled spaces, the project expanded opportunities for collaboration and experiential learning while maximizing the value of existing campus infrastructure. The award-winning renovation demonstrates how strategic reinvestment in existing facilities can advance educational outcomes and support long-term campus goals.
