Challenge
Delivering key public and operational components of the stadium required balancing design ambition with budget and construction realities. The North Plaza redesign introduced added coordination as the project responded to evolving constraints and stakeholder concerns. Integration of artwork, public gathering space, and operational functions required close collaboration across teams. A fixed opening date tied to scheduled stadium events created a non-negotiable delivery timeline.
Solution
We supported the developer through design, permitting, and construction oversight for multiple stadium components, including the North Plaza and operational spaces. Our team coordinated redesign efforts to align project goals with budget and constructability requirements. Commissioned art installations were integrated into the plaza through close coordination with landscape and construction teams. FF&E selection and procurement support further helped streamline final delivery and operational readiness.
Outcome & Impact
The completed stadium established a major new civic and sports destination for Seattle through a successful public-private partnership. Public spaces, operational facilities, and hospitality areas were delivered in time for the stadium’s inaugural event. The redesigned North Plaza creates an active and welcoming arrival experience enhanced by integrated public artwork. Our client received a highly coordinated venue that continues to serve as a centerpiece for professional sports and large-scale events in the region.
