As part of Seneca’s community engagement commitment, our NoVA team recently spent the day cleaning up one out of the 30 ponds at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens in Northeast DC. The gardens are on ancestral land to the Nacotchtank (Anacostan) and Piscataway Conoy People. With exotic water lilies and lotus that bloom primarily during the summer, the need to upkeep the gardens is critical to continue the generational health of this land’s unique vegetation and animals.  It was a wonderful opportunity to volunteer, spend time together outside and see tangible evidence of our hard work!
