David co-founded the Seneca Group in 1992.

David’s career in real estate began with his decision in 1981 to join Seattle-based developer, Wright Runstad & Company. In his 11 years there, he became a Principal and owner of the firm, overseeing the development of several of the firm’s projects, including Microsoft’s headquarters. Prior to Wright Runstad & Company, he worked at Bain & Company.

David earned an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University.

David is on the Advisory Board of R.D Merrill Company, a Seattle-based, private developer of senior living residences, (Merrill Gardens), and multi-family properties, (Pillar Properties), a Trustee of Lakeside School, a member the National Park Foundation’s National Council, as well as a former Trustee and Board Chair of the Seattle Children's Foundation, a former member of the Seattle Parks Foundation's Board of Directors and the Trust for Public Land’s Washington Advisory Board.
