Charlie Gronek

P.E., LEED®AP BD+C, Development Manager

As a development manager and sustainability expert at Seneca Group, Charlie Gronek helps clients deliver a sustainable built environment. His deep expertise of high-performance design and operations, building systems, green building certifications and standards, local and national regulations, and sourcing and material alternatives inform his guidance on Seneca Group’s projects. Charlie is currently managing sustainability integration for numerous large-scale ground-up and tenant improvement development projects for Amazon, including HQ2 and new office towers in Bellevue, Washington. Charlie guided adoption and implementation of climate-friendly solutions at HQ2, including using low-carbon materials, energy-efficient building systems, water reuse systems, and the integration of green space.

Prior to joining Seneca, Charlie was a Senior Associate at WSP where he led the Northwest high-performance design team. For over 11 years, Charlie practiced mechanical engineering focused on innovative and sustainable projects.

Charlie graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington and California, a member of ASHRAE, and a LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C specialty).
