PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Prow is a landmark feature of Expedia Group’s 41-acre Seattle waterfront campus—a striking, wing-shaped corporate retreat designed for staff and executive gatherings. Developed with full project and advisory support from Seneca Group, The Prow reflects a seamless integration of architectural design, natural landscape, and strategic campus planning.

Set into the cascading plateaus that flow from Expedia’s main office buildings down to the Port of Seattle’s public park, The Prow blends naturally with the terrain while offering breathtaking views of Elliott Bay. Inside, the retreat features three distinct seating areas: a formal space centered around a 20-seat table handcrafted by a world-renown local artisan, a casual lounge oriented toward the water, and an intimate seating area surrounding a fireplace. Seneca Group also led the procurement of all furnishings to ensure design continuity and quality.

The Prow pays tribute to the Pacific Northwest through the use of local and indigenous materials. Its stone walls echo the riprap that lines the Elliott Bay shoreline, while floors and ceilings are built from sustainably sourced Douglas Fir, honoring the region’s architectural heritage and natural beauty.

With its blend of thoughtful design, regional craftsmanship, and seamless functionality, The Prow enhances the overall employee experience and extends the reach of Expedia’s innovative Seattle campus to the waterfront.
